How To Remove Acrylic Nails
Acrylic nails are a good option for women with naturally weak nails that easily break. Although acrylics are stronger than regular nails, you can’t wear them forever and there will come a time when you have to remove them. Unlike regular nail polish, however, acrylic nails are a bit harder to get rid of. Luckily, the whole removal process can be made simpler by following this step by step guide.
1. Find a nice, flat surface for you to work on. Make sure that there is enough space for all the things that you will be needing to remove your acrylic nails. Cover the surface with newspapers and a plastic bag just so you won’t make a mess that you would have to clean up after the whole procedure.
2. Set up all your needed supplies on the table so you won’t have to keep on standing to get what you need. Spread them out in front of you so you can easily spot what item you need.
3. Cut your acrylic nails using a sharp pair of nail clippers. Cut it as short as possible as this will speed up the whole removal process.
4. Fill a container with nail polish remover that has acetone. You will use the solution to soak your fingers so that the nail glue would dissolve and you can remove the acrylic nails.
5. Put petroleum jelly on the skin around your nails to keep it from getting too dry from dunking it on the nail polish solution.
6. Soak your fingers on the solution for 15 to 20 minutes, as you see fit.
7. After that time, try to peel the acrylic nails off. You can tell if it is ready because you can get it off effortlessly. Otherwise, don’t force it to come off. Simply dunk it right in and let it soak for another 5 minutes before you try peeling it again. Do this procedure again when necessary.
8. Once the acrylic nails are removed, wash your hands well to remove the petroleum jelly and the nail polish remover. Sometimes, it takes more than one washing to accomplish this.
9. If you find glue residue on your nails, simply get a nail buffer and use it to remove the glue. Do not force it though and gently buff your nails until it comes off.
10. Do not forget to moisturize especially after you soaked your nails on nail polish remover for some time. This could leave the skin around your nails feeling dry. Use a hand and nail cream to replace the moisture that you lost while soaking your hands.
